LG eyes number two spot

LG is targeting the number two spot after seizing the number two spot from Sony Ericsson and Motorola. In an interview Yonhap, LG’s president of mobile business Ahn Seung-kwon, stated that the company hoped to give second place (in terms of global market share) Samsung, a run for its money.

Among the other plans to push LG to succeed, is Q4 plans to launch a new “Black label” series phone, which will be positioned to compete with the iPhone. The Prada phone line is also getting another handset, especially after LG is reportedly happy with its progress. LG also has plans to market a luxury cellphone market, much like Toyota’s premium brand Lexus.
